Thai Massage

Thai massage has often been dubbed as the “lazy persons’ yoga”, it combinesthe ancient body work disciplines of acupressure, ayurveda, reflexology andasana yoga and involves the manipulation of energy lines in the body called senlines (similar to meridian lines). This is done through a process ofrhythmic massage involving thumbing and palming on the limbs and body; yogicstretching and gentle body manipulation.

This practice is suitable for clients of all ages and abilities and isvaried enough to cater for a wide range of physical needs.

“This blend of acupressure and stretching isespecially beneficial for those who fine themselves stiff, sore and tired fromover exertion in work or sports, or from arthritis or other disorders affectingmobility. Thai massage can often helpthose clients to recapture lost range of motion. By encouraging lymphatic function, thistherapeutic deep tissue massage and stretching can also detoxify the body,heighten the immune system, and prevent disease and injury by promotingflexibility, supple joints and ligaments.”

Spinal Bodywork

This practice draws influencefrom AcroYoga and its therapeutic flying flows. It involves yogic stretching ofthe limbs and trunk; manipulating the nadi / sen energy lines along the torso,particularly the back, by actively encouraging the flow of energy upwardstowards the crown of the head.

A typical session may begin with ‘leg love’, paying particular attention onreleasing blockages & encouraging the flow of energy along these weight bearinglimbs. There after you then get theopportunity to fly, you maybe suspended in the air, from either your thighs orbuttocks, which encourages the elongation of the spine with gravity & theopportunity to work on the back, neck & shoulder areas where tension ortightness can often be held.

Further bodywork may then begiven whilst you are sitting upright or in child’s pose.

For spinal elongation & inversion bodywork recipientsmust: -

· be comfortable with being upside down, where byyour head is lower than your heart such as hanging out in a forward bend;

· not have suffered a recent head injury;

· not be pregnant;

· not suffer from severe low blood pressure;

· not suffer from severe eye or ear conditions.

Please feel free to contact me for clarification on any ofthe above mentioned points.

Testimonals
"As a professional dancer on tour I am constantly in need of a deep massage to relief my tired sore muscles and aching body. The tension was building and was affecting my dancing so I decided to book a thai yoga massage treatment with Jaqui Wan. I was not disappointed she was amazing! She worked deeply with breath, connection and manipulation. She paid special attention to my trouble areas and eased them out with her strength and grace. I completely let go of my body closed my eyes  and let her ease, guide and soothe my body with the beautiful techniques of thai massage. She is very in control of her movements and you feel safe and grounded with her presence. Afterwards I felt much more open in my body and was able to move and dance with ease again. I felt brighter, lighter and more positive in my body and my outlook in life. She is extremely talented and I would highly recommend her to anyone as it is a very rewarding beautiful experience."
